Retail Jewellers Ireland (RJI) was established in 1966 by a group of jewellers under the leadership of Douglas William Loane of Cork. It was, at that time, called the National Retail Watchmakers' and Jewellers' Association. It is the sole body of jewellers in Ireland representing independent jewellers and is identified by its distinctive blue, white and gold emblem.
The aim of RJI is to encourage its members to be specialist jewellers with professional standards. It achieves this by engaging in a wide range of educational programmes for both owners and staff and provides consumers with information and education about fine jewellery. So when you shop for jewellery and watches, look for the store with the distinctive RJI emblem on its door. When you see this logo, you can be assured that this jeweller has agreed to abide by an ethics statement and has access to the best and most relevant educational programs.
